Neuroinflammation—the inflammatory response within the central nervous system—plays a crucial role in protecting and repairing neural tissue. However, when dysregulated, neuroinflammation can severely impair neuronal function and lead to cell death, emerging as a critical factor in various neurological disorders, including neurodegenerative diseases. Despite its impact on brain health, the neural regulation within the brain is unclear. This project will dissect the brain circuits in mice that modulate neuroinflammation and investigate the underlying cellular and molecular mechanisms.
