The Warren Alpert Foundation is proud to provide $1,000,000 to Crossroads Rhode Island in support of their $15 Million, Capital Campaign Housing Vision. As the leading provider of housing and supportive services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Rhode Island, they know that housing is health and is the cure for homelessness. Housing is necessary to realize a healthier society, and communities that invest in affordable housing incur lower public costs and achieve better health outcomes. The fund will be used for the renovation of 84 one-bedroom apartments for adults with high needs, each with a private kitchen, bath, and living area, an Innovative Health & Housing Facility, and new permanent supportive apartments which will house 176 new and affordable one bedroom apartments.
