From time to time The Warren Alpert Foundation will elicit proposals in specific research and education areas.

How to Apply

The Warren Alpert Foundation accepts grants for medical research, medical education, and in some cases general education and basic human services grants. See below on how to apply for these grants.

Prospective applicants applying for General Funding Grants $25,000 and Under,  please click to submit General Grant Application.

Prospective applicants applying for funding Over $25,000 must first submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI).  Please click to Submit LOI .

Letters of Inquiry for all requests over $25,000 are reviewed quarterly prior to our board of director’s meetings (February, May, August, November).  All LOI’s and invited applications need to be received by the 15th of the month prior to our Board meeting months. (January 15th, April 15th, July 15th, and October 15th)

The Letter of Inquiry will ask you for the following required information:

  • Title of Program
  • Description of Program
  • Perceived Need
  • Goals & Methodology
  • Approximate Ask Amount & Time Line

NOTE: INDIRECT COST POLICY – The Warren Alpert Foundation allows indirect costs up to 15% of direct costs.
