Harvard Medical School – The Warren Alpert Building

In 1993, at the direction of Mr. Alpert, The Warren Alpert Foundation donated $20,000,000 to the Harvard Medical School for a new 5-story research Building. At the time, the donation represented the largest single donation ever received by the 200-year-old medical school. Located at 200 Longwood Avenue in Boston, The Warren Alpert Building houses laboratories for genetics, pathology and neurobiology departments and the Center for Blood Research. Mr. Alpert hoped the gift would lead to medical breakthroughs that extend and enhance the quality of others’ lives and prepare for the medicine of tomorrow through research.
