The Warren Alpert Foundation cGMP Oligonucleotide Manufacturing Facility

In 2019 the Warren Alpert Foundation provided a $1,700,000 grant to partially fund the construction of the Warren Alpert Foundation cGMP Oligonucleotide Manufacturing Facility at MassBiologics, UMass Medical School in Boston MA. The facility will produce antisense oligonucleotides for orphan disease. Oligonucleotides are short DNA or RNA molecules which are recognized as a new class of therapeutics that demonstrate key advantages in safety and efficacy for personalized medicines. This facility will contribute to personalized medicine landscape not only in Massachusetts but in the northeastern United States and beyond.
